As some of you know, I’m a huge Soulcycle fan and FR (frequent rider.) After two + years of driving 40 – 90 minutes each way, you can imagine how excited I was when Soulcycle Los Gatos opened up near my home. A group of girlfriends and I decided we wanted to ride in the first class ever at the new studio… it was at 6:00 am!! Now understand that prior to that I was NOT an early morning exerciser. I was always under the (misguided) impression that in order to ride/walk/swim/etc, I needed to eat a meal of some sort at least two hours prior in order to fuel my body for what was to come. The morning of the studio grand opening I just said what the heck and got up at 5:00 am, chugged a bunch of water, then had iced coffee, BCAAs (amino acid blend that helps with hydration and muscle recovery – I like AminoLast by Gaspari Nutrition!) and a banana. I had plenty of energy for Casey Hirsch’s amazing class! Plus… after coffee at with my ladies, I got so much done by 9:00 in the morning because there are no lines at the car wash, grocery store, dry cleaners, etc. at that time! Yay! It was also so great to get my workout in early so I didn’t have to worry about runnning out of time to exercise in my busy day. Scheduling fitness into our day will be another blogpost soon! Sooo.. I really encourage you to try working out early, before your busy day begins. It’s such a great way to ensure you get your fitness in, plus I guarantee you will feel super energized, think more clearly, and burn extra calories all day! Make sure you do have some type of a meal containing carbs and protein within an hour or two, and drink lots of water throuout the day! Thanks for reading and happy exercising! – LM💗
